This is a collector Yin Yang Ametrine that is huge! More than an inch in diameter, this stone blends the Amethyst (February birthstone) with the Citrine (November birthstone) to create a pretty blend of colors. The rough (see photos) was obtained from the Anahi mine in Bolivia, the world’s largest natural ametrine mine. The colors change somewhat with viewing angle, it would look great on a revolving platform. The pattern was written by Loren Brown, and was inspired by a similar gemstone cut by Spectrum Award winner, Victor Tuzlukov.

No two ametrines look the same because the colors in each gem combine in a unique way.
Ametrine, one of the rarest types of transparent quartz, combines two colors: amethyst’s purple and citrine’s orange-to-yellow, growing together in a single crystal.
There is only one commercial source for ametrine: the Anahi mine in Bolivia.
